Timothy M. Prentiss grew up in Shasta County and his family calls our beautiful area home. Mr. Prentiss believes in strengthening our local community. Mr. Prentiss and his office are passionate about building up our local community and fighting for its citizen’s rights.
After graduating from Anderson High School, Mr. Prentiss graduated from College of the Redwoods in Eureka. Mr. Prentiss moved on to California State University, Chico, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with an emphasis in legal studies. After beginning law school in Los Angeles, Mr. Prentiss transferred to Cal Northern School of Law in Chico and graduated with a Juris Doctorate degree, while interning as a certified law student at the Shasta County Public Defender’s Office.
After passing the bar and being licensed as an attorney, Mr. Prentiss began his legal career as a Deputy Public Defender at the Lassen County Public Defender’s Office. To be closer to family, Mr. Prentiss moved back to Redding and began working at the Shasta County Public Defender’s Office. Mr. Prentiss left criminal defense for a time and became a prosecutor in Siskiyou County, handling the most serious cases. This dual experience is unique and will work to your advantage in the complex world of the criminal justice system.
Since opening Prentiss Law Office, Mr. Prentiss’s has focused his practice on DUI’s and criminal defense in general. Mr. Prentiss has experience defending against a wide range of crimes, within his general criminal practice, and has focused on the most serious crimes. Prentiss Law operates out of two offices, one in Redding and one in Sacramento.
